Jazz dancing combines the techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance. Proper warm up, effective stretching, body isolations, floor work, and across the floor combinations, will lead to a greater understanding and proper execution of the many styles of jazz dance. Jazz training will strengthen dancers rhythm, style, and to bring bold energy to their dancing.

Ballet is the foundation of dance. Training in ballet will improve body placement, flexibility, balance, alignment, strength and technique through barre and center floor work. Ballet technique is essential for strength, power, and execution for each dancer and will extend through all other forms of dance.

Lyrical is a slow, expressive type of dance that is an adaptation of ballet, contemporary and jazz. This style focuses on feeling the lyrics and music, body-lines, balance, and sustained extensions. Contemporary also known as modern dance is a dance style that rejects many of the strict rules of classical ballet. It emphasizes creativity, oppositional movement, and raw emotion. Students that wish to enroll in our Lyrical/Contemporary classes must also be enrolled in ballet.

Hip Hop dancing teaches rhythm, musicality, and coordination. These classes are an excellent choice for dancers looking for a high-energy but less technical class. Dancers are encouraged to push themselves to explore new movements and put their own flare on choreography with personal interpretation.

• Black Hip Hop Shoes or any clean* black tennis shoes (*Shoes must only be worn in the studio, please no street shoes. Shoes may have white or black rubber bottom.)

We offer a Hip Hop Package which includes, the 2024-2025 Package T-Shirt, HVDC Bike Shorts, Hip Hop Shoes, and a Personalized Mini Duffle Bag or Standard Size Backpack.

Pre-Acrobatic classes will build foundational acrobatic skills like rolls, balances, and beginner tumbling in a fun, supportive environment. Perfect for young learners exploring movement and preparing for our exciting recital routines!

Acrobatics classes will focus on floor gymnastics, tricks, flexibility, and strength. Skills include but are not limited to forward rolls, back extension rolls, handstands, chin stands, cartwheels, as well as advanced skills such as aerials and back tucks. Dancers will perform an acrobatic dance routine in our recital.
